Breath of Fire III

Well maybe about a week ago or so I started playing more of a wondeful RPG for the Sony Playstation known as Breath of Fire III. Not that it really matters, but I’ve been playing it via the ePSXe emulator and yes, I downloaded an ISO of the game. I do actually own the game, but unfortunately the disc is extremely scratched up. I had started replaying this game about two months ago and then it ended up getting neglected once I had went out and bought a PS2 and Resident Evil 4.

Going into a different topic about the game though, I’ve been a fan of the BoF series ever since an old friend of mine first showed me the original on Super Nintendo. It wasn’t the most amazing RPG I had played at the time, which would have either been Final Fantasy IV or VI, but it was good stuff. This was back around 1994-95 need I remind you. Then I found out about a sequel of the game coming out, Breath of Fire II for Super Nintendo and bought that and enjoyed it even more than the original. Then by chance back in 1998, I happened to see Breath of Fire III for PSOne in a store at my local mall. I had just recently got a Playstation at the time and knew little to nothing about BoFIII, but I had figured that considering how awesome I thought the Playstation was at the time and how much I loved the previous BoF games, that I would enjoy this one. Boy was I right. Breath of Fire III is definitely in my opinion the best of the series. I’ve played BoFIV and that was really good as well, but I have yet to play BoFV Dragon Quarter, which from what I’ve heard is a big letdown to the Breath of Fire series.

Anyways, right now I’m a little over fifty hours into my current game on Breath of Fire III and I’m right now to the last area of the game, Caer Xhan, where the goddess Myria is located. I could just go and head off and beat the game if I wanted, but there is still plenty of things I would like to do before I wrap things up. Such things as fighting tons of Arch Mages (which give you a whopping 48,000 exp, which is good for this game need I remind you) and Berserkers, which give you 10,000 exp per battle. There’s also things I need to do like catching every fish in the game and etc. I just recently learned how to make video clips from PSOne games in ePSXe, though I’m having a huge problem getting the audio to synch with the video, but oh well. I just may make video clips and add in my own background music. ^_^ I’ll probably post a few clips such as me owning the Arch Mage, Berserker, and Myria on YouTube once I get the chance.

What I’ve Been Watching as of Late

To be honest, I’ve been putting most of my free time into playing Breath of Fire III, but I have been watching a bit of anime each day and I plan to get through several series by the time by Birthday rolls around mid September. Just yesterday I watched episodes 20 & 21 of Utawarerumono, which was good stuff and finally got around to finish the Crest of the Stars/Banner of the Stars series with Banner of the Stars III. Today, I would like to watch all of Maria-sama ga Miteru ~Haru~ from beginning to end if possible and knock that out of the way so that I can start watching Groove Adventure Rave on Monday. I plan to marathon that series as much as I can this upcoming week, especially since I’m on vacation from work until next Sunday.

Zenkai Power is Still Alive!

While I have been busy with work and playing a ton of Breath of Fire III lately, I will admit that I had given up on this blog at one point, but I’m not going to let that happen again, even if no one reads what I post. Anyways, I went ahead and made just a quick banner for the site, so enjoy. I’ll be updating the anime and video game section shortly.

Resident Evil 4 Beaten

So after hours of playing Resident Evil 4 for the past several days, I finally got around to beating it for the first time last night. The last boss was a joke might I add. Just tossing some hand grenades would knock him out, where then you can climb up on him and stab him in the eye, until Ada gives you a specialized rocket launcher to blow him to smithereens. My next objective on the game is to do all the extra stuff such as the Seperate Ways and Mercenaries modes. Then I’ll be replaying through the game on the Professional (also known as Hard) mode. On a rather funny note before I wrap up this post, at one point a guy in a chopper comes to help you out when you are in a pinch. Well, I have a friend named Mike and the guy flying the chopper is also named Mike. lol Anyways, here is a clip of the final chopper scene with Mike, as he defines the word awesome for us and goes out with style.

Resident Evil 4

Ever since I had gotten into anime, I had begun to slowly lose interest in video games. It was only until about maybe a few months ago that I started playing them again, though very little. After seeing an excellent music video of the video game Resident Evil 4, I had became very interested in playing it. After watching various clips from the game on YouTube, I just knew had to play this game. So about two weeks ago from now I’d say, I went out to my local Bestbuy and spent some money on a Playstation 2, a memory card, and Resident Evil 4.

Now I have played a few of the previous Resident Evil games. A bit of the original for PSOne when I was very young and it honestly scared the shit out of me back then lol. I had previously owned Resident Evil 2 for PSOne as well. I also played a few minutes of Resident Evil 3 for PSOne and very little of Code Veronica X for PS2. To be honest, I only though they were good at best, though I enjoyed RE2 the most out of them, but man…… so far I’d have to say Resident Evil 4 is an excellent game. Even though the graphics are suppossed to be slightly better on the Gamecube version, I honestly can’t see anything wrong with the graphics on the PS2 version. There are a few minor flaws though, such as all the footage on the GC version is in real time, while there are a lot of FMV sequences instead on the PS2 version. This is kinda bad, because one of the unlockables is that Leon can get custom outfits such as his outfit from Resident Evil 2, but he won’t be wearing it in the FMVs on the PS2 version. There also is a flaw on the PS2 version where sometimes if an enemy gets close to a door, you can see part of their body going through the door when it shouldn’t be.

Anyways, moving on… So far everything about Resident Evil 4 in my opinion is top notch. The graphics look great, the audio is nice and clear, the voice acting is even great in my opinion, especially for using an English voice cast even for the Japanese version of this game. Overall, the creators of this game really outdid theirselves when making this masterpiece. I can honestly say it’s one of the best games I’ve played of its kind. I would definitely recommend it to anyone else and don’t pass up the chance to play it, because I really think you will be sorry if you don’t.

And so it begins

Well I’ve finally decided to start my own blog. I was first interested when I found a blog that a friend of mine had made, Blogging Wit’KT. I went to make a blog, but lost interest fast and gave up. However, another friend of mine made his own blog recently, Zettai Zero, and my interest for blog making was reborn anew.

So with that said, here is my blog which I have named Zenkai Power. For those who know me, you would know that Dragon Ball Z is my #1 favorite anime series and I got the name for my blog from it, which is the first ED Theme to Dragon Ball Z. As for what you’ll find here, I’ll probably be posting daily stuff that goes on in my life like one would with a journal. It will probably be anything random, but mostly anime & video game related. Anyways, though I’m pretty sure that no one else besides my online buddies will be checking out my blog, I hope you enjoy it.
